OSHA
Safety & Health Standard (Section
1910.178) requires that only trained and
authorized operators shall be permitted
to operate a powered truck.
Training
is required for all operators to develop
and reinforce safe operating practices,
to learn the differences between various
lift trucks, to reduce injuries to co-workers
and operators and minimize damage to property
and cargo.
This
class meets OSHA classroom training requirements.
Site-specific hands-on training and evaluation
must also supplement this course, which
SCNWO can also provide. Certificates will
be issued upon successful completion.

Train-the-Trainer Course
DESCRIPTION: This information-packed
seminar will prepare participants to teach
FLIs Coaching the Lift Truck Operator
program - which, since its introduction,
has been used to train over half a million
lift truck operators nationwide.
The program offers instructors the tools
necessary to meet OSHA's new requirements
for formal instruction, practical training
and evaluation. Throughout the seminar,
attendees will not only complete the course
themselves
they will also learn proven
educational methods and valuable tips for
running a successful training program.
Each
participant will receive a COURSE COMPLETION
CERTIFICATE AND A complete Coaching the
Lift Truck Operator Instructor's kit,
which includes:
- A comprehensive operator video which
addresses pre-start safety considerations,
lift truck design considerations and safety
procedures for picking up, moving and
setting down a load.
- A PEDESTRIAN VIDEO to be shown to non-operators
working around lift trucks
- Eight OVERHEAD TRANSPARENCIES depicting
actual lift truck "accident"
situations to generate group discussion
of preventability issues
- A fully scripted INSTRUCTORS GUIDE
that offers a step-by-step presentation
with wide margins for notes and customization.
It also includes administrative guidelines,
testing options, a Class Registration
Form, an Inspection Checklist, an Evaluation/Performance
Checklist (also used to determine which
operators need refresher or remedial training),
a Certification of Training and/or Evaluation
Form, OSHA background information, and
guidelines and exercises for setting up
a hands-on training session.
OPERATOR
RESPONSE BOOKS (One included in class.
Quantities available separately) actively
involve participants throughout the training.
Participants recall and apply information
presented in the video segments to Response
Book situations and exercises, and review
a series of "OSHA Reminder Points."
Course Completion Certificates and Wallet
Cards included.
COST: $395.00 PER PERSON. Multiple
attendees from the same location can attend
and receive their own Leader's Guides (without
the video) for an additional fee of $195.00
each.
